PURPOSE STATEMENT
THE GEORGE WASHINGON CARVER SCHOLARSHIP FUND, INC. is a non-profit corporation, which provides grants to students who attend historically black colleges or universities and major in an area of business, math, science or technology. Our purpose is to assist students in receiving the technology and skills they need to help make a better society. Our mission is to produce
LEADERS rather than followers.
The scholarship fund awards grants annually to students who major in one or more of the following areas: ACCOUNTING, AGRI-BUSINESS, AQUACULTURE SCIENCE, BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES, BUSINESS, CHEMISTRY, COMMUNICATION, COMPUTER SCIENCE, ECONOMICS, ENGINEERING, LAW, MATHEMATICS, MEDICINE, NURSING, POLITICAL SCIENCE, PRE-LAW, PRE-MED, PUBLIC ADMINISTRATON. These grants, unlike a loan, do not have to be repaid. This academic year the awards will range from a book scholarship to $10,000.00 or more depending on the student’s involvement in the organization and availability of funds. Grants are not based solely on grade point average, or scores on college entrance exams, however, these factors are considered.
Students in historically black colleges and universities have been inspired by faculty and staff at these institutions for more than a century, and have gone on to become great on a local, national, and international level. Help us to continue a great tradition.
WE NEED YOUR DONATION FOR OUR SCHOLARS
Your tax-deductible donation will be used to assist our scholars, however, arrangements can be made for a full, or partial scholarship to be in your name or the name of a family member, friend or organization. For more information, or to volunteer, contact the above phone number.
THANK YOU FOR READING OUR PURPOSE STATEMENT. PLEASE PASS IT ON TO SOMEONE ELSE.
